Week 1
This exercise was an introduction towards hatching and ink it helped me brush up my skills
Week 2
In this exercise we were thought rendering techniques then asked to render a sphere with ink
Week 3
In this exercise we learnt architectural handwriting then were asked to write out the song Negaraku with architectural hand writing
Week 4
The final exercise was about scale and coloring techniques we were asked to draw a floor plan to scale then color it taking to account color pallet and shadows
REFLECTION
Life-long learning
Design Communication was one of the most interesting classes this semester. Since i took Foundation in Natural and Built Environments last year this class was a good refresher for my skills. We learnt about autocad, composition, scales, color, rendering, architectural lettering and architectural drawings all the skills required to have a career in architecture .In the end this module was very useful for me as it resharpened my skills .For this class we had to work on 3 projects and 4 exercises.
TGC's ACQUIRED
With all the information given to me I know where to search to further my knowledge on things such as rendering and coloring. For example I can further my exploration on coloring by myself as now I have a basic understanding on coloring with all its nuances and terms.
Discipline specific knowledge
Iam now able to understand and produce architectural drawings such as section drawings and elevation drawings with a more deeper understanding as this module sharpened my skills further.
Thinking and Problem Solving skills
Iam now able to figure out and solve problems that arise when producing drawings such as composition and determining color palletes.
PERSPECTIVES
LEARNING PLATFORM
We had face to face lectures this semester. The lecture was very interactive with exercises straight after a concept has been briefed to make sure students understood the information given. I kept updated on what was happening with the class on telegram. I used mytimes also to get information on assignments and to submit my assignments.
TUTOR AND MODULE COORDINATOR
The module co-ordinator was Dr. Filzani . Dr. Filzani was very helpful and the way she structured her lectures was very interesting. My tutor was AR. Zahari Zubir. He helped me alot during the tutorials guiding me through all the projects smoothly.
