Engaging with this module has significantly broadened my perspective on the importance of heritage conservation in protecting cultural and historical narratives. I’ve come to understand the delicate balance required to maintain the integrity of architectural and landscape heritage while adapting it for contemporary use. The module has highlighted the diverse strategies used in conservation, such as preservation, restoration, and adaptive reuse, and how these methods are deeply influenced by the surrounding historical and cultural framework. This learning experience has reshaped my outlook on architecture, emphasizing its role as a steward of history and identity rather than merely a means of creative expression. Moving forward, I intend to integrate these insights into my approach to architecture, recognizing the responsibility to honor and sustain the stories embedded in the built environment.
